Man Hit by Car in Gardena, Critically Injured
GARDENA (July 27, 2017) – A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on Artesia Boulevard Wednesday after midnight, according to the Daily Breeze.
As per the article, the 58-year-old man was hit at approximately 12:45 a.m. as he walked north across Artesia Boulevard, west of Normandie Avenue. The man was not in a crosswalk when the collision took place, police said.

The pedestrian, whose identity is still undisclosed, sustained unspecified injuries in the crash. He was reportedly taken to County Harbor-UCLA Medical Center where he was listed in critical condition.
Meanwhile, the woman driving the involved black Toyota Prius stopped and remained at the scene. Authorities said the female motorist was unharmed and cooperated with the investigation.
At this time, authorities have not yet released a statement if the driver will be held liable for hitting the pedestrian. Investigators are still working on several matters like the involvement of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, the vehicle’s speed at the time of crash, and the signal on traffic lights at the area when the accident happened.
