Gavin Hooper, 18, Seriously Injured in Winchester Fatal Crash
WINCHESTER, CA (June 6, 2023) – A fatal crash left Gavin Hooper seriously injured at Winchester Road and Keller Road in Winchester.
The California Highway Patrol identified the 18-year-old man as one of the victims in the wreck which took place last week on Thursday.
The incident happened when Gavin Hooper was driving a Nissan Titan with two teenage girls in the area of Winchester Road and Keller Road.
Witnesses said a GMC Sierra then ran a red light at the intersection for an unknown reason. CHP said in the process, the GMC slammed into the Nissan.
The KTLA News and CBS Los Angeles wrote that both cars obtained major damage in the accident on June 1 at around 9 p.m. The Sierra rolled over due to the impact of the collision.
Girl, 17, Killed in Wreck
Gavin Hooper sustained major injuries, including cuts and bruises as well as a fractured hand, as a result of the crash. One of his passengers, a 16-year-old girl, suffered a severe brain injury.
Paramedics rushed them to a hospital and listed the female patient in critical condition. The reports confirmed that the third occupant in the Titan, a 17-year-old girl, died following the wreck.
Family members set up two GoFundMe pages to help cover the medical expenses of the two survivors and the funeral costs of the deceased victim.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Sierra survived the incident with major injuries. Medical personnel transported the 30-year-old man for treatment.
