Cyclist Dies in Hit-and-Run Collision at Higuera and Prado
San Luis Obispo, CA (February 22, 2023) – Gavin Matthew Robinson, a 22-year-old man, suffered fatal injuries following a suspected hit-and-run crash that occurred in the area of south Higuera Street and Prado Road.
On February 11, Saturday, Robinson was riding a bicycle traveling in the streets of San Luis Obispo. The KEYT News reported the cyclist entered the intersection at about the same time as another vehicle. Officials confirmed two cars struck the bicyclist at Higuera and Prado.
Fatal Bicycle Accident in San Luis Obispo
Emergency crews later responded to the incident, and immediately rendered aid to the victim. Despite life-saving efforts performed by paramedics, the cyclist sadly succumbed to his injuries and passed away at the scene. The San Luis Obispo Police Department later identified the deceased as Gavin Matthew Robinson.
Officers mentioned the first driver involved in the horrible crash fled the scene. Meanwhile, the second motorist stayed and cooperated with the investigation process.
At this time, detectives continue to work to determine several unclear factors surrounding the deadly accident that happened at Higuera Street and Prado Road in San Luis Obispo.
