Gavin Sandford Seriously Injured in Santa Cruz Crash on Soquel Avenue
SANTA CRUZ, CA (June 20, 2021) – Gavin Sandford was seriously injured after a car crash on Soquel Avenue in Santa Cruz.
The California Highway Patrol received a call about the accident on Sunday evening. Officers reported the wreck at around 6:30 p.m.
CHP said Gavin Sandford was riding one of the two vehicles which collided for an unknown reason in front of the Santa Cruz Inn. The two crashed at 2950 Soquel Avenue near Highway 1.
Tesla and Car Collide Near Inn
The dispatch described the cars as a gray Honda Accord and possibly a blue Tesla. The Honda obtained major front-end damage while the Tesla ended up with a broken axle upon impact.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and found Gavin Sandford hurt as a result of the Soquel Avenue crash. He sustained major injuries following the incident.
Medical personnel then took him to the Natividad Medical Center for treatment. CHP added that children were riding one of the vehicles involved at the time.
Meanwhile, officers forced the road near the Highway 1 on-ramp to shut down following the wreck. Authorities are still determining the cause of the Santa Cruz crash.
