FALLBROOK, California (January 9, 2017) — A driver in a gray Toyota Sienna minivan was killed Monday morning when a tree fell onto his moving minivan near 2219 Willow Glen Road, according to a California Highway Patrol report.
The crash was reported by CHP officers about 8:26 a.m. this morning. The report states that the car hit and tree and the tree came down in the roadway and fell on top of the vehicle. George Bamber, 84, died of his injuries at the scene of the crash.
Police closed down the northbound and southbound lanes due to the crash. A dump truck and chain saws were required to remove the tree and debris.
Police will investigate the cause of the crash and liability.
