George Pacheco, 78, Killed in Oakdale Head-On Crash at Orange Blossom and Lancaster
OAKDALE, CA (May 19, 2021) – A DUI crash at Orange Blossom and Lancaster roads killed George Pacheco east of Oakdale.
The California Highway Patrol identified the 78-year-old Oakdale man as one of the victims of the fatal wreck on Tuesday evening.
The incident happened when George John Pacheco was driving a Chevrolet Tahoe north on Orange Blossom in Oakdale. At the same time, a Chevrolet Silverado was going south.
CHP said the driver of the pickup, 23-year-old Jesus Perez, then veered into the northbound lane. The Oakdale man slammed into the SUV head-on near Lancaster Road.

Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and confirmed that George Pacheco died as a result of the crash. His passenger, a 76-year-old Oakdale woman, sustained major injuries upon impact.
Medical personnel rushed her to a hospital for treatment. The Modesto Bee and Oakdale Leader wrote that the accident occurred on May 18 at about 7 p.m.
Jesus Perez and one of his passengers, a 31-year-old Brentwood man, suffered major injuries following the collision. A third occupant of the Silverado, a 23-year-old Oakdale resident, survived with minor wounds.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that Jesus Perez was under the influence of alcohol when he struck the Tahoe. Authorities soon arrested him for DUI.
