Gerald Munyon, 47, Killed in Simi Valley Crash on East Los Angeles Avenue
SIMI VALLEY (February 22, 2019) – A homeless man was pronounced dead at the scene when a vehicle hit him on East Los Angeles Avenue Friday morning, according to Ventura County Star.
Authorities were alerted by reports of a crash involving a pedestrian and a vehicle around 6:10 a.m. in the alleyway behind The Egg House, located at 1470 East Los Angeles Avenue.
As per the article, the 47-year-old man appeared to be lying in the alley when the incident happened. The vehicle was travelling south then turned a corner where the victim was located and fatally struck him.

The deceased party has been identified as Gerald Munyon. According to an investigator of Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office, the victim had multiple states of residence but was currently living in Simi Valley.
The police said homeless people frequent a few places in the city but this particular area was reportedly not among them.
Authorities reported that the driver stopped after the crash and was fully cooperative in the investigation.
