Gerardo Moreno Killed, Cristina Gallardo Injured in Head-On Crash
BAKERSFIELD (October 22, 2018) – One was killed and four others were injured after a traffic collision along Panama Lane on Sunday night, October 21, according to The Bakersfield Californian and Kern Golden Empire.
The deceased victim has been identified as 47-year-old Gerardo Lopez Moreno, and the wounded as 46-year-old Cristina Gallardo. Both are from Arvin.
As per the reports, California Highway Patrol said Moreno was driving a Honda Civic when his car was struck head-on on Panama Lane by a 2004 Nissan Frontier.
Ruben Berelleza Dead in Car Crash on Panama Lane
The motorist in the Nissan, 50-year-old Ruben Berrelleza, was allegedly traveling west in the eastbound lanes when the Bakersfield man collided with the Honda.
CHP affirmed that both Moreno and Berreleza were pronounced dead at the scene. The accident took place at around 7:30 p.m., east of Oswell Street.
Meanwhile the four passengers riding the Civic, including Gallardo, were all hurt as a result of the crash. They were taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries ranging from moderate to major degree.
Gallardo reportedly sustained moderate injuries. The incident remains under investigation.
