Woman, Infant Hit and Injured by Vehicle on North State Street
Ukiah, CA (August 11, 2022) – Police arrested 33-year-old German Dominguez-Galindo following a suspected DUI crash that occurred on North State Street.
On August 7, a woman was walking with an infant in a stroller near the entrance of the Redwood Empire Fairgrounds. Our sources indicated a sedan driven by Dominguez-Galindo struck the two pedestrians. The Willits News reported the accident took place at approximately 11:20 p.m.
Personnel from the Ukiah Police Department, and the Ukiah Valley Fire Authority later responded to the 1000 block of North State Street. Emergency crews found both the pedestrians suffering in injuries. According to the article published online, paramedics transported the 31-year-old female to an out-of-county hospital. The patient was listed in critical condition.
Furthermore, the infant in the stroller was taken to Adventist Health Ukiah Valley for evaluation. Medical personnel eventually released the child after they determined they did not sustain any injuries.
DUI Suspect Jailed After Pedestrian Accident in Ukiah
Police later reported German Dominguez-Galindo displayed objective signs and symptoms of alcohol intoxication. Given that, officers arrested the motorist on suspicion of driving under the influence and causing injury, a felony; and booked into Mendocino County Jail.
Further investigation on the case is ongoing.
