INDIO, California (March 20, 2015) —A 73-year-0ld Indio man who was killed in a pedestrian accident Wednesday afternoon has been identified as Germonimo Meza, according to a press release by the Riverside County Sheriff Coroner.
The elderly man allegedly stepped out into a busy street in front of a female driver in a green Toyota Camry who was unable to stop and struck him in the westbound lanes about 2:19 p.m., according to news reports.
Paramedics responded, but they were unable to save the man.
Indio Police are investigating the crash and will issue a report.
