Gilbert Lorta, 55, Killed Bakersfield Crash on Weedpatch Highway
BAKERSFIELD (October 1, 2018) – A driver killed after a traffic collision along Highway 184 on Saturday night has been identified as Gilbert Lorta, according to Bakersfield Now and The Bakersfield Californian.
Kern County Coroner’s Office said the 55-year-old Bakersfield man died after the tragic accident on September 29 at around 9:30 p.m.
As per the reports, California Highway Patrol said Lorta was driving a Toyota collided with the back of a stopped GMC on the Highway 184.

Lorta was pronounced dead as a result of the crash which took place, north of Mountain View Road. Highway 184 is also known as Weedpatch Highway.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that five people riding the GMC at the time suffered minor injuries upon impact. Their names were not disclosed.
Officials initially believed that alcohol played a role in the incident which remains under investigation.
