Multiple Injuries in Crash Near Highway 101
GILROY, Calif. (September 13, 2024) — A two-vehicle Gilroy car accident happened Friday morning on the Masten Avenue off-ramp from southbound Highway 101 in Santa Clara County.
The traffic accident occurred at around 11:16 AM on September 13th, 2024, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The drivers of a red Toyota Tacoma pickup truck and a silver Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck collided due to unknown reasons in Gilroy.
One vehicle was in the median of the highway and the other car involved was on the shoulder.
The CHP report stated the Toyota got hit hard in the crash. This led to minor injuries for the passengers in the red Toyota pickup. The Chevrolet Silverado also collided with a light post, but it remained standing. It is unknown at this time if any more injuries had been reported, but CHP reported multiple minor injuries due to the crash.
Paramedics responded and located those hurt and transported them to a nearby hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Investigators are working to determine who is at fault for the accident in Gilroy on Masten Avenue near Highway 101.
