1 Seriously Injured in Gilroy Crash at Highway 152 and Bloomfield Avenue
GILROY, CA (September 18, 2021) – At least one was seriously injured after a car crash at Highway 152 and Bloomfield Avenue in Gilroy.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the wreck occurred on Saturday afternoon. Officers reported the accident at about 3:22 p.m.
CHP said two vehicles collided head-on for an unknown reason in Gilroy. They crashed on eastbound Highway 152 at the intersection with Bloomfield Avenue.
2 Cars Collide Head-On
The incident log described the cars as a green Chevrolet pickup truck and a white Dodge Charger. Both vehicles obtained front-end damage upon impact.
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the Recology South Valley Organics. They found one person who sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the wounded party to a hospital for treatment. Officials did not release the name of the patient and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the area of Highway 152 and Bloomfield Avenue to shut down following the wreck. The cause of the Gilroy crash is still under investigation.
