1 Killed in Gilroy Crash on Westbound Highway 152 Near Lovers Lane
GILROY, CA (July 31, 2021) – At least one was killed after a car crash on Highway 152 near Lovers Lane in Gilroy.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the tragic accident took place on Saturday morning. Officers reported the wreck at about 11:16 a.m.
According to CHP, two vehicles collided for an unknown reason in Gilroy. They crashed on the westbound side of Highway 152, just west of Lovers Lane.
2 Vehicles Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics then arrived at the scene. They rushed one person to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
The incident log soon confirmed that one victim died as a result of the collision. The name of the deceased individual remains unreleased pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the westbound lanes of Highway 152 to shut down for hours following the wreck. The cause of the fatal Gilroy crash is still under investigation.
