Antoinette Windom Killed in Sacramento County Crash
SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif. (January 23, 2020) – Antoinette Windom, 29, of Sacramento, died and five Pleasant Grove High School students were injured in a head-on crash Wednesday morning on Eagles Nest Road in Elk Grove.
A silver Hyundai Sonata driven by Antoinette Windom allegedly crashed head-on into a gray hybrid car occupied by the five high school students.
Antoinette Windom died in the crash, but the five students survived and two of them had major injuries. One of those students, however, an 11th-grader at Pleasant Grove High School, later died at the hospital on February 1st. She was identified as Gina (Genevieve) Shen Brinsmead.
Paramedics transported all five teenagers to either UC Davis Medical Center or Kaiser South.
It’s unknown at this time what caused the crash, but police are looking into whether or not poor visibility and slick roads were factors.
