Rider, 46, Dies in Collision Near Barton Road Offramp Tuesday
Colton, CA (November 7, 2021) – Giovanni Cespedes, a 46-year-old Santa Ana resident, suffered fatal injuries following a traffic crash that occurred on the Interstate 215 Freeway.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department reported Giovanni Cespedes was riding a motorbike traveling south on the freeway in Grand Terrace on November 2, Tuesday. According to the dispatch, traffic began to slow in front of the rider. The motorcyclist then applied his brakes and got into a “locked wheel skid”.
Our sources indicated Giovanni Cespedes traveled out of control and slammed into the right rear bumper of a Buick SUV. Due to the force from the impact, the rider was ejected from the motorcycle.
Shortly after 6:30 p.m., emergency crews arrived at the location. First responders found the victim pinned under the left rear wheels of the trailer attached to a semi-truck in the adjacent lane.
Giovanni Cespedes Killed in Grand Terrace Motorcycle Crash on Interstate 215
The Colton Fire Department confirmed the motorcyclist, Giovanni Cespedes, suffered fatal injuries as a result of the incident. Paramedics sadly pronounced the man dead at the scene.
Detectives assigned to handle the case continue to investigate several factors surrounding the motorcycle crash on 215 Freeway in Colton.
