Giovanni Fissore, 42, ID’d as Suspect in Dublin Fatal DUI Crash on Dougherty
DUBLIN, CA (August 5, 2022) – Authorities detained Giovanni Fissore after a fatal DUI crash in Dublin.
Police determined that the 42-year-old Livermore man was under the influence of alcohol when the fatal collision took place on Sunday.
The incident happened when Giovanni Fissore was driving a Chevrolet SUV on Dougherty Road in Dublin. At the same time, a female pedestrian was walking in the southbound lanes.
Police said he then struck the woman in the 6200 block of the road, just north of Dublin Boulevard. The CBS San Francisco and Pleasanton Weekly wrote that the accident occurred on July 31 at around 10 p.m.
Woman Hit and Killed by Car
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the site a half-mile north of the Interstate 580. They found the victim who ended up sufferung from serious injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel pronounced the woman dead at the scene. Her name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, police located a child inside the SUV at the time of the incident. They soon arrested Giovanni Fissore on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence, DUI and child abuse.
