Fatal 2-Car Collision Caused by Alleged Distracted Driver
LONG BEACH, California (April 29, 2016) – A deadly 2-car accident took place on Spring Street Thursday afternoon, according to The Press Telegram. (map)
The accident was reported at 4:36 p.m. near El Dorado Park Drive.
As per the article, Long Beach police said a 57-year-old Long Beach man was going east on Spring Street when he briefly looked away from the roadway.
The man failed to stop in time and collided his Hyundai Sonata with a Toyota Scion which was stopped in front of him.
Police affirmed that the the Toyota driver, a 31-year-old Downey woman, was pronounced dead at the scene. She was identified by her sister in Long Beach Post as Giselle Perez.
The investigation is ongoing.
