Scot Gomez, 32, Killed
GLENDALE, California (April 8, 2016) – A fatal multi-vehicle collision occurred on the northbound Interstate 5 Freeway Friday morning, according to Los Angeles Daily News.
California Highway Patrol said the crash occurred about 5:30 a.m., north of the 134 Freeway.
As per the article, CHP said 32-year-old Scot Gomez, of Santa Clarita, exited his black 2003 Toyota Camry after it became involved in an accident.
The Camry was then rear-ended by a black GMC Yukon, pinning Gomez between the two vehicles.
Subsequently, a 2016 Toyota Tacoma struck the rear of the Yukon while the 32-year-old was still trapped. Gomez was pronounced dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Yukon, a 55-year-old man, was taken to an area hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
Two other vehicles became involved in collisions in their attempts to avoid the deadly accident.
