GLENDORA, California (December 30, 2016) — Three or four people suffered minor injuries Thursday morning when the helicopter they were riding in made a hard landing on Mt. Baldy, according to the San Bernardino County Fire Department.
The incident took place about 11:40 a.m. yesterday. The helicopter landed on a mountain ridge in the snow. The fire department sent an air rescue unit to the scene to help the four victims who were aboard the helicopter. The people aboard the helicopter were able to get themselves off the aircraft by the time help arrived. Three people were hospitalized, but a fourth was not.
The incident remains under investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Aero Bureau.
