Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Glenn County Crash on Highway 45
GLENN COUNTY, CA (September 26, 2022) – A crash seriously injured a motorcyclist on Highway 45 near County Road 34 in Glenn County.
According to the Action News Now and KRCRTV News, the accident took place last week on Friday evening. Officers reported the wreck shortly after 7:30 p.m.
The incident happened on September 23 when a 50-year-old Magalia man was riding a motorcycle north on Highway 45 in Glenn County. At the same time, a Dodge was going south.
For an unknown reason, the Dodge tried to pass another car near County Road 34. In the process, the Dodge slammed into the motorcyclist.
Motorcycle and Car Collide
The California Highway Patrol said the rider crashed and his bike came to a rest in the northbound lane of the highway. He sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
A helicopter flew the victim to the Enloe Medical Center in Chico for treatment. The name of the wounded patient and his condition at this time were not disclosed.
Meanwhile, the 20-year-old man driving the Dodge ended up unharmed. Officers forced Highway 45 to shut down for about an hour following the wreck.
The cause of the Glenn County crash is still under investigation.
