1 Killed, 1 Seriously Injured in Interstate 5 Freeway Truck Crash
KERN COUNTY, Calif. (September 16, 2019) – Gloria Veloz Vasquez, 46, of Tracy, was killed and a juvenile was injured in a collision when her pickup collided with two big rig trucks Saturday night on the Interstate 5 Freeway.
An article in the Kern Golden Empire reported the crash took place about 7:30 p.m. on September 14 near Twisselman Road in Lost Hills.
The report stated that a Ford truck was traveling north on the 5 Freeway when for an unknown reason it collided with a tractor-trailer. The Ford overturned onto its roof during the collision and spun out of control before it was struck again by another big rig truck traveling northbound on the freeway.
Paramedics responded and pronounced the driver of the overturned vehicle dead at the scene.
A juvenile passenger in the Ford suffered major injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, the drivers of the two tractor-trailers were not hurt in the crash. The cause of the incident remains under investigation.
