Bicycle Rider Seriously Injured in Goleta Crash at Farren Road and Vereda Del Padre
GOLETA, CA (June 4, 2021) – A bicycle rider was seriously injured after an accident at Farren Road and Vereda Del Padre in Goleta.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the collision took place on Friday afternoon. Officers reported the crash shortly before 1:30 p.m.
According to CHP, a vehicle struck the bicyclist for an unknown reason in Goleta. The driver collided with the bicycle rider at the intersection of Farren Road and Vereda Del Padre.
Bicyclist Hit by Vehicle Near Calle Real
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near Calle Real. They found the cyclist who ended up suffering from major injuries a result of the incident.
Medical personnel then took the wounded party to the Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment. Officials did not release the name of the patient and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if the motorist stopped after hitting the bicyclist. Officers forced the area of Farren and Vereda to close following the bicycle crash.
Authorities are still determining the cause of the Goleta collision.
