Pedestrian Killed in Goleta Crash on Highway 101 Near Fairview Avenue

GOLETA, CA (November 11, 2022) – A crash on Highway 101 near Fairview Avenue killed a pedestrian in Goleta.

According to the Noozhawk and KSBY News, the tragic accident took place early Friday. Officers reported the collision at about 1:48 a.m.

The incident happened when an Uber passenger vehicle struck a male pedestrian for an unknown reason in Goleta. The car hit him on northbound Highway 101, south of Fairview Avenue.

Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and then found the man down on the ground. The California Highway Patrol said he sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision.

Medical personnel soon pronounced the victim dead at the scene. The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.

Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if the driver of the Uber stopped or stayed at the site following the incident. The cause of the fatal Goleta pedestrian crash is still under investigation.

Officers forced the northbound lanes of Highway 101 to shut down near Fairview for about two hours after the collision.
