Gonzalo Castro, 28, of San Clemente was arrested on sexual assault charges after a teenager reported him to Huntington Beach police
HUNTINGTON BEACH, California (July 28, 2017) – Gonzalo Castro, 28, of San Clemente has been arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl who he coached on the Marina High School track team, according to the Huntington Beach Police Department.
Castro, who is a sergeant in the Marine Corps and works as a recruiter in Costa Mesa, was booked Wednesday after police were informed of the alleged sexual assault that reportedly took place during the last track season during an off-campus training run.
The teenager called police to report the sexual assault that took place towards the end of the high school year.
Police say Castro is a recruiter for both Marina and Ocean View high schools.
Castro later posted bail and is out of jail pending any possible charges by the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.
