Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash on Golden State Freeway (I-5 Freeway)
GRANADA HILLS, Calif. (Nov. 8, 2019) – At least one person died Friday morning in a multi-vehicle crash on the Interstate 5 Freeway in Granada Hills.
The crash, which was reported to the California Highway Patrol about 5:14 a.m., took place near the connector ramp to the southbound San Diego (405) Freeway.
A driver in a gray Lexus reportedly struck multiple motorists as they weaved their way through traffic from the right shoulder all the way to the HOV lane, the CHP report said.
At least four vehicles were struck in the collision including a silver Toyota Corolla and a white Honda Accord.
Police closed down the Nos. 3, 4, 5 and 6 lanes of the freeway to investigate the crash.
