One Dead in Granada Hills Multi-Vehicle Crash

 GRANADA HILLS: Fatal Trash Truck Crash I-5 Freeway, Roxford Street (Sept. 29)GRANADA HILLS, Calif. (Sept. 29, 2020) —  At least one person has died in a Granada Hills crash involving a trash truck, a big rig and an SUV on the southbound Interstate 5 Freeway.

The collision was reported at 8 a.m. near Roxford Street, according to the California Highway Patrol.

One person was unable to get out of their vehicle after the collision. The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) responded to the scene where they pronounced one person dead.

A SigAlert was issued for the southbound lanes of the freeway, just south of Calgrove as the semi-truck was blocking the No. 6 lane.

The CHP is investigating what led to the crash, but they have not yet confirmed liability.  The CHP incident number is 00668.
