Driver Badly Injured in Granite Bay Fatal Crash Near Douglas and Berg
GRANITE BAY, CA (May 8, 2023) – A driver was badly injured after a fatal crash near Douglas Boulevard and Berg Street in Granite Bay.
According to an article published by the ABC 10 News, the tragic accident took place on Monday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck on May 8 at around 2:45 p.m.
The incident began when a 22-year-old Roseville man was riding a red and white Honda motorcycle on Douglas Boulevard, east of Berg Street, in Granite Bay. He was speeding in excess of 85 mph.
At the same time, a Toyota Rav4 was making a U-turn in the area. Police said in the process, the motorcyclist collided with the SUV.
Speeding Motorcyclist Killed in Wreck
The driver of the Toyota sustained moderate injuries as a result of the collision. Paramedics arrived and then rushed the patient to a hospital for treatment.
The rider ended up ejected from his motorcycle onto the roadway upon impact. Medical personnel confirmed that the 22-year-old man died following the accident.
The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released. Meanwhile, police forced a stretch of Douglas Boulevard to shut down for a time near Berg after the wreck.
The cause of the Granite Bay crash is still under investigation.
