
Juvenile Killed, 2 Injured in Collision at Douglas Boulevard
GRANITE BAY, Calif. (July 17, 2023) — A fatal Granite Bay crash happened Sunday night at Douglas Boulevard and Barton Road.
The two-vehicle collision occurred around 5:45 p.m. on July 16th, according to a California Highway Patrol dispatch.
The drivers involved in the crash were a silver Jeep Wrangler, a black Cadillac Escalade and a third motorist.
Police investigating the crash reported the driver in the Jeep allegedly drove through a red traffic light at the intersection and collided with the Escalade. The impact caused the Jeep to overturn.
The occupants of the Jeep were juveniles and one of them died in the collision. Meanwhile, paramedics transported two other passengers from the same vehicle to Sutter Roseville Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.
The identity of the minor who died in the crash will be released after family is notified.
Tow trucks removed the Jeep due to rollover damage and the Escalade for major front-end damage.
Meanwhile, there were no injuries from the Escalade reported at the scene.
Investigators are working on the case to determine fault for the crash.
