Grant Hill Hit-and-Run at University and Fairmount Avenues
GRANT HILL, San Diego County (July 29, 2017) – At least one person was injured following a series of accidents caused by an 18-year-old female driver in Grant Hill neighborhood on July 25.
According to San Diego Union-Tribune, the incident first took place at University and Fairmount avenues when the woman struck another car and sped off immediately after the crash.
That motorist then hit a second vehicle on Market Street, police said. The second driver followed the suspect and flagged down the incident to officers at about 3:30 p.m.

At 32nd Street, the suspect vehicle ran a red light as she was evading from authorities who were trying to pull her over. Subsequently, the woman struck a third vehicle head-on.
Officials said one of the motorists struck by the 18-year-old suffered minor injuries but was not treated at the scene. The identity of the victim was not disclosed.
Meanwhile, the female driver also suffered minor wounds and was taken to a hospital. She was expected to be booked into jail on suspicion of hit-and-run, according to initial reports.
Motorists are obligated to remain at the scene after being involved in an accident. In this case, it is evident that the 18-year-old motorist will be held fully responsible for causing the series of collisions that led to the injuries of another individual. Regardless of her reasons, leaving the area following a crash is a serious crime and punishable by law.
