Bicycle Rider Seriously Injured in Grass Valley Crash at Brunswick and Loma Rica
GRASS VALLEY, CA (August 17, 2021) – A bicycle rider was seriously injured after a crash at Brunswick Road and Loma Rica Drive in Grass Valley.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the accident took place on Tuesday evening. Officers reported the incident at about 6:54 p.m.
According to CHP, a vehicle struck the bicycle rider for an unknown reason in Grass Valley. The two collided at the intersection of Brunswick Road and Loma Rica Drive.
Bicyclist Hit by Vehicle
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near Idaho Maryland Road. They found the bicyclist who sustained moderate to major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the wounded party to a hospital for treatment. Officials did not release the name of the patient and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if the driver involved stopped and stayed at the site after hitting the rider. Officers forced the area of Brunswick and Loma Rica to shut down following the bicycle collision.
Authorities are still determining the cause of the Grass Valley crash.
