2 Injured in Grass Valley Crash on Southbound Highway 49
GRASS VALLEY, CA (June 4, 2021) – Two were injured, at least one seriously, after a car crash on Highway 49 in Grass Valley.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident occurred on Friday afternoon. Officers reported the incident at about 4:51 a.m.
A black Volkswagen and a gold Chevrolet Malibu collided for an unknown reason in Grass Valley. They crashed on the southbound side of Highway 49, just south of McKnight Way.

Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and found one vehicle with major front-end damage. The other car obtained major left side damage upon impact.
Two people ended up hurt as a result of the collision. Medical personnel then rushed an elderly patient to the Sutter Roseville Medical Center for treatment of major injuries.
The other wounded party did self-transport for further aid. Officials did not disclose their names and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the southbound lanes of Highway 49 to shut down following the wreck. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the Grass Valley crash.
