Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Grass Valley Crash at Highway 49 and Cameo Drive
NEVADA COUNTY, CA (August 4, 2021) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured after a crash at Highway 49 and Cameo Drive near Grass Valley.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the wreck took place on Wednesday afternoon. Officers reported the accident at about 5:16 p.m.
CHP said a red Toyota RAV4 and the motorcyclist collided for an unknown reason near Grass Valley. The two crashed on southbound Highway 49 at the intersection with Cameo Drive.
Motorcycle and Car Collide
Both the SUV and the motorcycle obtained major damage due to the impact. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the site and found the rider down on the ground as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the patient to the Sutter Roseville Medical Center for treatment of major injuries. Officials did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP forced southbound Highway 49 at Cameo Drive to shut down for several hours following the wreck. The cause of the Grass Valley crash is still under investigation.
