Motorhome and Van Collide Head-On
CHP added that motorhome rolled onto its side with major front-end damage and came to a stop on the shoulder of the highway. The van ended up in a ditch with water in it upon impact.
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and soon confirmed that one individual died as a result of the collision.
Air ambulances took two other people to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the southbound lanes of Highway 101 to shut down for several hours following the wreck. The cause of the fatal Greenfield crash is still under investigation.
