Gregorio Segundo, 29, Killed in Industrial Accident at West Coast Iron
SPRING VALLEY (October 3, 2018) – The construction worker struck and killed by metal beams on Jamacha Road last week has been identified as Gregorio Segundo, according to San Diego Union-Tribune and NBC San Diego.
The 29-year-old man was a victim of an industrial accident which occurred on October 3 at about 10:20 a.m.
As per the reports, Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Medical Examiner’s Office said Segundo was helping to load the I-beams at West Coast Iron on Jamacha Road when he was hit.

Another employee was operating a forklift to place the iron beams onto the trailer bed when a beam struck the stacked beams. Three beams fell off the trailer bed and to the ground, hitting Segundo.
Officials affirmed that Segundo was unresponsive and did not have pulse after the incident. He was then rushed to Scripps Mercy Hospital in Hillcrest where he later died.
