Gregory Tobias Killed in 4-Vehicle Vacaville Crash on Interstate 80

Man, 29, Killed; Two Women Seriously Injured in Vacaville Crash

VACAVILLE, Calif. (Nov. 2, 2026) — Gregory Tobias, 29, was killed, and his wife, Vanessa Tobias, 29, and another woman were critically injured in a four-vehicle crash on Halloween morning on the Interstate 80 Freeway in Vacaville.

The couple’s blue Hyundai Tucson became disabled on the freeway and was struck by three other vehicles, causing it to overturn just west of Lagoon Valley Road. It happened around 2:35 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31st, 2026, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The other vehicles were a blue BMW coupe, a gray Buick SUV, and a white Kia sedan.

Gregory Tobias was driving the Tucson, and his wife was a passenger in the vehicle. Sadly, the man died at the scene and his wife was transported to a hospital, where she remains in critical condition.

A 60-year-old woman who was driving the Kia was also treated at the hospital for major injuries.

Police are investigating the circumstances. Meanwhile, the family has a GoFundMe to raise money for medical and funeral expenses as well as support the couple’s young child.
