Man Hit and Killed by Truck on Interstate 5 Tuesday
Grenada, CA (June 29, 2021) – A deadly pedestrian accident occurred on Interstate 5 Freeway in Grenada Tuesday just after midnight.
The Siskiyou Daily News reported a shirtless man was seen standing in the middle of the highway at approximately 12:15 a.m. For reasons still unclear, the male party walked directly in front of an oncoming Kenworth truck. The driver of the big rig was not able to avoid and struck the pedestrian.
According to the news article published online, the force from the impact overthrown the victim onto the southbound lanes of the freeway. Officials said another vehicle, a white Toyota Prius, also hit the pedestrian lying in the roadway.

The Yreka California Highway Patrol group later confirmed the man sadly died as a result of the incident. Pending confirmation and notification of next of kin, the identity of the deceased remained undisclosed.
Detectives continue to investigate at this time liability in the deadly pedestrian accident in Grenada.
