Gretchen Hubbard, 59, Killed in Yuba City Head-On Crash on Highway 99
YUBA CITY (October 20, 2019) – The woman killed after a traffic collision along Highway 99 Friday have been identified.
California Highway Patrol said 59-year-old Gretchen Elizabeth Hubbard was one of the two drivers who died in the October 19 accident.
According to reports by The Sacramento Bee and Action News Now, the incident began when Hubbard was driving a 2016 Ford south on Highway 99.
Darryl Taylor, 32, Also Dead After Yuba City Car Accident
At the same time, a 1995 Toyota driven by 32-year-old Darryl Wade Taylor was going northbound in the fast lane near Oswald Road.
For an unknown reason the Yuba City man crossed into oncoming traffic and struck the Gridley woman head-on. The wreck took place at around 6:40 a.m.
Paramedics responded to the scene and confirmed that both drivers succumbed to their injuries as a result of the crash. The two motorists were wearing seat belts when their cars collided.
Meanwhile, the cause of the incident remains under investigation.
