Deadly, Head-on Collision Near Chinquapin and Landis Drives
VICTORVILLE, Calif. (August 16, 2024) — Gricelda Ponce Sandoval, 54, has been identified as the Adelanto woman who died Thursday morning in traffic accident on Ridgecrest Road in Victorville.
The collision occurred at about 6:45 a.m., on August 15, 2024 between Chinquapin Drive and Landis Drive, according to Victor Valley News Group.
The drivers involved were a white 2017 GMC Yukon and a white 2024 Toyota Camry, according to the Victorville Police Department.
One of the vehicles reportedly crossed into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with the other motorist, police said.
Paramedics responded and located the driver of the Toyota, Gricelda Ponce Sandoval, who was suffering from severe injuries. Despite efforts to save her life at the scene, she died from her injuries before she could be transported to a hospital.
Meanwhile, the 52-year-old Victorville man driving the other vehicle was transported to a local hospital for injuries he suffered in the crash.
Investigators are working to determine fault for the Victorville collision.
