Major Injury, Head-on Crash on Highway 70 in Gridley
GRIDLEY, Calif. (Sept. 16, 2019) — At least one person was hospitalized with major injuries early Monday morning after a head-on crash at State Route Highway 70 and Cox Lane.
The collision was reported at 5:30 a.m. to the California Highway Patrol. The Butte County Fire Department also responded to the scene.
The drivers of a Chevrolet 1500 pickup truck and a blue Mercury Sable sedan both suffered major front-end damage in the crash. One of the vehicles was in the center divide on the southbound side and the other blocking the northbound No. 1 lane after the crash.
It’s unknown how many people were injured in the wreck, but at least one person was hospitalized with major injuries.
The crash remains under investigation to determine fault.
