4-Vehicle Crash on Gridley Road
BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. (July 14, 2021) — A Gridley Road car accident involving four motorists happened Wednesday morning near Larkin Road.
The California Highway Patrol reported the collision about 7:27 a.m. on July 14th in Butte County, California.
Three of the vehicles were blocking all lanes of the roadway in front of the Gridley Farm labor camp. The fourth vehicle wound up in a ditch nearby. Apparently, a driver in a silver Nissan Altima was westbound and made a eft turn on Authority Dr. in front of a red Ford Focus. The Ford was unable to stop and the two vehicles collided. Next, the Nissan Altima got pushed into the eastbound lane. The vehicle also collided with a 2010 Nissan Pathfinder. Finally, the Pathfinder spun out and crossed over into the westbound lanes. A westbound Nissan Rogue collided with the Pathfinder.
5 Hurt in Gridley Road Collision
Police requested at least one ambulance due to injuries from at least one person involved in the crash. However, later police confirmed that five people were injured in the crash.
Tow trucks removed all four damaged vehicles from Gridley Road after the car accident.
Meanwhile, investigators seek to determine the cause of the crash as well as liability. They will interview all parties involved and any witnesses to establish the sequence of events as well as log evidence.
Gridley is a small city about 29 miles south of Chico.
