
1 Killed in Griffith Park Crash on 5 Freeway Near Colorado
LOS ANGELES, CA (May 6, 2023) – A crash killed at least one person on the 5 Freeway near Colorado Boulevard in Griffith Park.
According to the CBS Los Angeles and My News LA, the tragic accident took place on Saturday night. Officers reported the wreck on May 6 at about 8:50 p.m.
The California Highway Patrol said two vehicles collided for an unknown reason in the Griffith Park area of Los Angeles. The cars crashed on the northbound 5 Freeway, just south of Colorado Boulevard.
2 Cars Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics then arrived and found a male occupant hurt. He sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel soon pronounced the man believed to be in his 40s dead at the scene. The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, officers forced the right three northbound lanes of the 5 Freeway to shut down near Colorado following the wreck. The cause of the fatal Griffith Park crash is still under investigation.
