Guadalupe Gonzalez, 30, ID’d as Suspect in Oxnard DUI Crash at C Street and 8th Street
OXNARD, CA (October 13, 2021) – Authorities detained Guadalupe Gonzalez after a DUI crash at C Street and 8th Street in Oxnard.
Police determined that the 30-year-old Port Hueneme woman was under the influence of alcohol and drugs when the wreck occurred on February 4.
The incident began when Guadalupe Gonzalez was driving a 2002 GMC Envoy west on 8th Street, approaching C Street in Oxnard. At the same time, a 2005 Ford Focus was going north on C Street.
Rachael Valentine, 29, Victim in Car Crash
The driver of the Focus, 29-year-old Oxnard resident Rachael Valentine, died at the Ventura County Medical Center. Guadalupe Gonzalez sustained non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the crash.
Paramedics also took her to the VCMC in stable condition. Meanwhile, police arrested the suspect for gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated on Tuesday.
Officers booked her into the Ventura County Jail and soon released her on bail. The Oxnard DUI crash is still under investigation.
