Guadalupe Lopez Alvarado, 47, Seriously Injured in Napa County Crash on Old Sonoma
NAPA COUNTY, CA (May 23, 2022) – A DUI crash seriously injured Guadalupe Lopez Alvarado on Old Sonoma Road in Napa County.
The California Highway Patrol identified the 47-year-old Napa resident as one of the victims in the wreck which took place on Sunday.
The incident happened when Guadalupe Lopez Alvarado was driving a 2014 Toyota Camry south on Old Sonoma Road in Napa County. At the same time, a 2016 Subaru Impreza was going north.
CHP said the Subaru then crossed the center line and sideswiped a 2016 Kia. The Impreza ultimately slammed into the Toyota head-on in the 4000 block of the road.
DUI Driver Hits 2 Cars
The cars crashed south of Congress Valley Road in the Carneros area. The Napa Valley Register wrote that the accident occurred on May 22 at about 3:20 p.m.
Guadalupe Lopez Alvarado and the driver of the Subaru sustained major injuries as a result of the crash. A 16-year-old passenger in the Camry survived the collision with moderate injuries.
Paramedics rushed all three patients to the Providence Queen of the Valley Medical Center for treatment. The motorist in the Kia, a 22-year-old Sonoma man, ended up unharmed.
Meanwhile, CHP determined that the driver of the Impreza was under the influence when he hit the victims. Officers forced a stretch of Old Sonoma Road to shut down for a time following the wreck.
The Napa County crash is still under investigation.
