Guadelupe Sanchez-Castellanos, 23, Killed in Rohnert Park Crash on Highway 101
ROHNERT PARK, CA (October 15, 2021) – Guadelupe Sanchez-Castellanos was killed after a DUI wrong-way crash on Highway 101 in Rohnert Park.
The sheriff’s office identified the 23-year-old Santa Rosa man as the victim of fatal wreck which took place on Friday morning.
The incident happened when Guadelupe Sanchez-Castellanos was driving a Mazda 3 south on Highway 101 in Rohnert Park.
A Ford Edge traveling the wrong-way then slammed head-on into into the Mazda. The two crashed north of the Golf Course Drive off-ramp.
David Stubbers, 26. Arrested For DUI
Guadelupe Sanchez-Castellanos ended up trapped inside his car as a result of the crash. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and extricated him from the wreckage.
Medical personnel rushed the victim to the Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, where he died. The Press Democrat wrote that the collision occurred shortly before 1:30 p.m.
Meanwhile, officials transported the driver of the Ford to a local hospital and took him into custody. They determined that he was under the influence of intoxicants when he hit the Mazda.
Officers soon arrested 26-year-old David Stubbers on suspicion of DUI. They booked the San Diego man into the Main Adult Detention Facility in Santa Rosa without bail.
The Rohnert Park DUI crash is still under investigation.
