Guermocindo Gonzalez, 32, ID’d as Suspect in Coachella Fatal DUI Crash
COACHELLA, CA (December 13, 2021) – Officers detained Guermocindo Gonzalez after a fatal DUI crash in Coachella.
The sheriff’s department determined that the 32-year-old Coachella man was under the influence when the wreck occurred on Monday.
The incident happened when Guermocindo Gonzalez was driving a Chevrolet Camaro which slammed into a GMC Sierra in Coachella.
Juan De Dios Cisneros, 32, Killed in Wreck
The two cars crashed at the intersection of Cesar Chavez Street and Cairo Avenue. Paramedics arrived and then found a passenger in the Chevrolet who ended up unconscious following the wreck.
The victim, 30-year-old Juan De Dios Cisneros, ended up suffering from serious injuries as a result of the collision. The Coachella man died at the scene.
Meanwhile, officers soon arrested Guermocindo Gonzalez on suspicion of homicide for causing a DUI crash. They booked him into the John Benoit Detention Center in Indio.
The Desert Sun and KESQ News wrote that the wreck took place on December 13 at around 8:20 p.m. The DUI crash is still under investigation.
