Deadly Head-On Collision at River Road and Bonita Avenue
Guerneville, CA (January 25, 2023) – One person died following a traffic accident that occurred in the area of River Road and Bonita Avenue Wednesday, January 25.
The Press Democrat News reported two vehicles collided head-on at the intersection in Guerneville. Preliminary investigation revealed a GMC Canyon was traveling west on River Road at an unsafe speed. When the GMC approached the area near Bonita Avenue, the driver veered to the opposite side and drove into the path of an eastbound Chevrolet Blazer S-10.
Our sources indicated the GMC and Chevrolet crashed into each other, resulted in significant damage to both cars.
Deadly Car Accident in Guerneville
Shortly after 10:45 a.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. They found the driver of the Chevrolet suffering in serious injuries. Despite life-saving efforts performed by paramedics, the victim sadly succumbed to his injuries and passed away. Authorities continue to withhold the identity of the deceased pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
Authorities added the wrong-way driver, and a passenger in the GMC both suffered injuries as a result of the collision. An ambulance transported the two parties to Providence Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Several factors surrounding the unfortunate event remained unclear. At this time, detectives continue to investigate the precise cause of the deadly accident that happened at River Road and Bonita Avenue in Guerneville.
