Woman Killed in Hit-and-run Pedestrian Accident is Identified
OAKLAND, Calif. (March 9, 2022) — Gwendolyn Carson, 61, of Pittsburg, died in a hit-and-run Oakland pedestrian accident last Saturday on International Boulevard.
The deadly crash happened about 2:15 a.m. on March 5th in the 9900 block of International Boulevard in East Oakland, according to East Bay Times.
The Pittsburg woman was reportedly crossing the roadway, outside of a marked crosswalk. The driver struck her in the westbound lanes of the roadway, but failed to stop.
Police did not provide a description of the suspect. It’s unknown if the driver was speeding, but police are reviewing evidence to determine the factors that contributed to the crash. It’s also unknown if drugs, alcohol or distracted driving are factors in the crash
