Woman Killed in Hit and Run; Suspect Surrenders
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (August 9, 2021) – Gwendolyn Pointer, 60, of Baldwin Hills, died in a hit-and-run crash at Crenshaw Boulevard and 39th Street in the Leimert Park area.
Later, the suspect who fled the scene reportedly surrendered to authorities.
The motorist struck and killed Gwendolyn Pointer about 3 a.m. at the Leimert Park intersection.
Police closed down the intersection at 39th Street and Crenshaw Boulevard to investigate, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Meanwhile, there is no other information available about the collision. Police did not release the name of the suspect or a description of the vehicle involved.
