The collision took place about 6:45 a.m. when a gray Dodge Dart crashed underneath the semi-tractor trailer truck. The vehicle was traveling in the eastbound slow lane of the freeway when it happened, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The CHP report stated that the car was “jammed under the truck” and that one person was trapped inside. Four other people got out of the vehicle and several were injured. Paramedics responded to the scene, but there were no further details.

A tow truck responded to remove the car which was on its side, the report said.

Police are investigating what led up to the collision and liability.
